Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster Unexpectedly Launches on Steam
Journey Awaits: Rediscover a Classic RPG with Stunning Enhancements
An Unforeseen Arrival on PC
What was once considered an exclusive advantage for the Nintendo Switch 2 has now made its way to PC. The high-definition remaster of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, an RPG developed by Silicon Studio, has unexpectedly debuted on Steam, catching many by surprise with its instant availability.
The Genesis of Bravely Default
Originally launched in Japan in 2012 for the 3DS, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy later saw an expanded release titled "For the Sequel" in 2013. This enhanced version, which was subsequently released internationally in 2014 simply as "Bravely Default," forms the basis for this new Steam remaster.
The Endearing Narrative Unfolds
The game's narrative centers around Tiz, the sole survivor of a village tragically consumed by the Great Chasm. His path intertwines with Agnès, a young vestal, as they embark on a pivotal quest to seal the chasm and liberate the crystals from encroaching darkness. Their adventure carries a profound significance that initially remains unknown to them.
Modern Touches for a Timeless Adventure
This remastered edition boasts a suite of contemporary enhancements. Players can now enjoy significantly improved graphics, a more intuitive user interface, and the convenience of fast-forwarding through cutscenes. Additionally, two novel minigames have been integrated, and importantly for portable gaming enthusiasts, the game is fully verified for the Steam Deck, ensuring a smooth experience on the go. The classic turn-based "Brave and Default" combat system remains a core element of the gameplay.
Special Launch Offers
To celebrate its arrival, Square Enix is offering "Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster" with a 20% launch discount, valid until March 26. This limited-time offer makes the game accessible at a reduced price point. Furthermore, purchasers will receive a digital art album, which can be accessed through the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer, providing a deeper dive into the game's artistic vision.
